Samsung has just introduced their latest addition of smartwatches to the Galaxy family – Galaxy Watch Active2. The new smartwatch comes with new intuitive features and designs, so it can be further customized to the user’s personal style and help improve health and well-being.
The Galaxy Watch Active2 is designed to be customizable for each user, it comes in two different sizes – 44mm and 40mm in diameter – and in three different colors – black, silver and gold.
It has a sleek new stainless-steel design and a glass backing. The screen now covers most of the front, which in combination with the display, where the dial is active and visible, even when not in use, contributes to the feeling of having a traditional watch around the wrist.
All versions come with leather bracelets, but can be made more personal through a wide range of straps and dial options. With the standard width of the straps, you can also buy straps at regular watchmakers and stores.
Galaxy Watch Active2 also introduces a new upgrade of Samsung’s rotating bezel. It is now digital, which should provide intuitive navigation while maximizing screen size. On the rounded Super AMOLED display, users can turn clockwise and counterclockwise to select apps simply and naturally.
Good training partner
Samsung states that Galaxy Watch Active2 can also act as a guide to achieving better health and well-being and providing concrete tips on how to make healthier choices in everyday life when it comes to diet, exercise, mental health and sleep.
Galaxy Watch Active2 can detect more than 39 different types of training, 7 of which are automatically recorded – which includes running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing, cross training and dynamic training.
With the upgraded running trainer, you can follow your pace in real time and select seven different types of running programs to achieve your training goals.
Galaxy Watch Active2 has new health sensors on the back, twice as many as its predecessor, which is read faster than before, so you can get information quickly and get the most out of your workout.
You can also measure and get an overview of your stress levels through Samsung’s health platform,Samsung Health. Galaxy Watch Active2 also has sleep detection, where improved sleep analysis algorithms help the user achieve a healthier sleep pattern. But just remember that it’s just a watch – if you suspect health problems then go to the doctor, ok?
Galaxy Watch Active2 has the option of 4G connectivity, so you can make and receive calls or stay up to date on social media, even without the phone.
Galaxy Watch Active2 also promises to be able to help on trips abroad as it supports voice and text translations in over 16 languages in real time.
If you want to use 4G connectivity with Galaxy Watch Active2, contact your teleco and ask if they support esim on Galaxy Watch Active2 – which there aren’t as many yet to do, but it’s coming.
An integral part of the Galaxy ecosystem
When the Galaxy Watch Active2 is paired with a Galaxy smartphone, users can through the Watch Camera Controller take pictures, start a video recording, view pictures directly on the clock, or switch between the front and rear camera of the phone.
With a Galaxy smartphone with wireless battery sharing, users can also charge the Galaxy Watch Active22 so you don’t have to bring another charger on the trip. But just remember that you drain the battery on your smartphone a bit.
Other Samsung services that users can access include Samsung Health, SmartThings and Bixby.
Galaxy Watch Active2 launches early this fall, and the two stainless steel sizes come in silver, black or gold with leather bracelets. Galaxy Watch Active2 has a recommended price of around Euro 480 for 4G stainless steel in 44mm and Euro 510 for 4G stainless steel in 44mm.
